Excellent! I'm always nervous to take my dog to the groomer- especially new ones. This is a brand-spankin new place- things were clean, the owner was super friendly, my dog was relaxed when I dropped him off (aka- didn't have his regular panic attack when I left) AND he looked super cute when I picked him up! (complete with a gingham bandana!;) Also, it was easy to get an appointment- but I doubt it will be for long- once word gets out about this place! I highly recommend Bark Slope!

Excellent and highly recommended! Julie was very accommodating and our two Maltese mixes took to her right away. It's very comforting to know that you can see the dogs getting groomed out in the open. There was never a worry about how my dogs were treated. Julie had a great sense of style and gave them such a perfect looking cut ;) Everything worked out great from start to finish. We are so happy a wonderful place opened in our area!

Our poor dog has had terrible haircuts in the past. You know what I mean - he comes back looking like an alien. Well Bark Slope Salon was amazing. It's small, so you get very personal & professional service, with the groomer herself listening to your instructions and discussing your pet with you. It's not the kind of place where someone at the front throws your pet into a crate and the groomers are hidden away in the back. The groomer introduced herself to our dog and established a very good rapport right off the bat. In the end, he LOOKED GREAT. It was the best cut he had ever gotten! On top of everything, he didn't want to leave! This is truly a gem and deserves a lot of local business. Call ASAP!

I just moved to the neighborhood recently and I've used Bark Slope Salon a couple of times now. Well let me tell you... they do such a fabulous job!! The groomer is definitely professional and experienced, unlike other places that they just wash your dog and the grooming is horrendous. My little Jenna (Maltese) looks like a completely different dog. So cute and fluffy! She hates having her legs brushed, and the groomer does such a good job at getting rid of any matts. Overall, my Jenna looks like a million bucks after they have groomed her. As far as prices go, I think the prices are quite affordable. Still cheaper than the Manhattan and more convenient since I don't have to drag my ass very far. The only thing that annoys me is that you it is almost impossible to make a last minute appointment. Yeah, yeah, I need to learn to be patient. I think they only have one groomer and the salon is really busy. So make sure to call ahead and make an appointment!! C'mon and bring your dog here, you won't regret it.

Thank you, Bark Slope Salon! My toy poodle Popcorn came out looking like a little beauty. I was afraid my dog would be impossible to groom. He is a recent rescue and is terrified of new places and strangers, and tends to fear bite. But Bark Slope Salon took his issues in stride and worked with us to make us feel very comfortable. Popcorn complained a little bit initially, but ultimately I think he knew he was in a safe place, and he was spunky and happy when I picked him up. We will definitely be going back and I look forward to Popcorn and the groomer becoming good pals.

What an amazing place!! My friend and I stopped in to Bark Slope on a Saturday afternoon, and the owner Julia came right out to greet us. You could sense that Julia really cares about the animals and puts a lot of effort and thought into their care. There is a huge picture window so you know your animal is not going to be shoved into some basement cage and ignored. We are definitely going back, as I could tell Bark Slope is the perfect place to take care of all of our animal's grooming needs, from a quick nail trim to a full bath/haircut, and the prices are very reasonable for the neighborhood.

I love Yelp reviews, they lead me to great places like Bark Slope Salon. Friends and those who live in our apartment building recommended Perfect Paws, but after a couple of failed attempts at getting last minute appointments, I decided to hop on Yelp. I'm a little disappointed that Bark Slope wasn't my first choice in retrospect, because our little Yorkie couldn't look ANY better than he does right now. I called in the morning for an appointment and they were able to get me in that same afternoon. When I got there, the staff was super friendly. It was Cooper's first grooming so I had no insight as to what I was looking for and left it all in her hands. She did a ridiculously awesome job to say the least! Perfect, perfect, perfect!

I am a 50+ woman, single, with grown kids and two mini poodles. Needless to say, I am a little overinvested in my dogs. Last summer I moved to Park Slope and was referred to Bark Slope after admiring a simple, beautiful, clip on a poodle in the park. My dogs are 7 and 10 so they've been groomed for years and this is the first time they've not shudddered all the way to the shop. They tend to be anxious dogs when not with me but when they leave the shop they're not stressed at all. Julia has both dogs in and out within three hours. Her prices are the same as other groomers in the area. The grooming area is visible from the street, not like the usual place with dogs lingering all day in crates and you're not sure who's grooming them or where they've disappeared to. She is incredibly skilled at what she does. My dogs look so good that people comment on the street!

I took my little Blondie in for a bath... and boy did she ever need one! She finally had all of her puppy shots and the coast was clear to bring her in for her first ever trip to the groomers. I am so glad I chose this place! It took a bit of time for her to be finished but I think that is because they have great work ethic here. And I'm glad that I had the extra time because Bark Slope Salon is in a great area with lots of fun shops to entertain myself with while I waited. When I picked her up I couldn't even believe she was the same dog that I dropped off. My jaw literally dropped. And no offense to her because she's an absolutely beautiful maltese but I have never seen her look so good. She smells fantastic and is soft and fluffy as can be. That is because they use top of the line shampoos and conditioners here. They will even brush your dogs teeth or scale them if you pay a little extra.

Where do I even start to profess my and my puppy's love for this place! Our little miniature aussie has been here a few times now and always comes back happy, groomed, and smelling like blueberries. Last time she even came home with a little pink bandana (which she still has on and refuses to let us take off). Our pup has had both the basic bath and the bath & trim and both times Bark Slope Salon did an amazing job. She stays soft for a whole week after we take her and the best part is that her little face smells amazing thanks to the blueberry facial that is included in any service. What a spoiled pup! Highly recommended!

After reading a few yelp reviews, my hubby and I decided to take our shih-poo here for a full grooming. The salon is small and clean. You can even see them working through the window of the storefront. Julia did an excellent job, especially after I didn't really give her much guidance on how we wanted his hair cut. We've been back a few times and each time he comes out clean and handsome. I'm especially happy with the products they used to bathe him. I have a sensitivity to certain chemicals that's used in cheaper products, so after I picked him up and was perfectly fine... I was very happy! Plus the bandana placed on him after grooming is such a nice personal touch. It's true that you have to pay a bit more than average, but we think it's worth it!

Super excited about this place. I am a first time dog owner and I was a bit nervous to leave my dog in a place for two hours but the staff is very friendly and they took care of my pup with extreme care. They answered all my questions and I don't think the price is bad either, so for a first timer this was great. I also like that the place is in a central location, just in case you want to stick around and have coffee or something to eat, 7th ave is filled with places to go. My fav nowadays is the Tea Lounge on Union, I recommend. Overall, i have to say it was a great first experience, my pup was super excited to be groomed and I look forward in seeing them again.

I just took my Scottish Fold, Mable, to Bark Slope Salon for her first complete groom. We come every couple of weeks for a nail trim, but the groom is well worth the money. My cat looks amazing! Jodee is the one who grooms the cats, and she is so friendly, easy going and does wonderful work. Mable looks absolutely beautiful. Her blue coat is so even and soft, and she smells great, too.
